That Ing Hang Stupa
This sixteenth century stupa can be referred to as one amongst the most significant ones within Laos. It was built in the 5th century by ‘King Soumita Tham mavongsa’, who was the governor of ‘Marouka Nakhone’ within Sikhottaboun Empire’. Moreover, it is a museum featuring memories of Lord Buddha. It would remind the visitors of his arrival to ‘Souvannaphoum’ and having meals under ‘Tonhang Tree’. Hence, this stupa is known as ‘Inghang’. Every February witnesses flocking of Buddhist’s from all over the world to celebrate a unique festival. Tuk Tuk ride costs around 70000 kip ‘round-trip’.
Wat Sayaphum
Originally established in the 16th century, ‘Wat Sayaphum’ has undergone reconstruction number of times. The latest reconstruction took place in the year 1906. Situated near to Mekong River within the heart of Savannakhet; this temple is prime focus of ‘Lao New Year’, ‘Buddhist Lent Celebrations’, and ‘Boat Racing Festival’.
