However today the city has less French influence in its architecture than other towns as for example Saigon and Phnom Penh, but Vientiane is strongly characterized by Thai.
There are two real seasons in the town: a rainy one which goes from May / June
to September / October and a dry and cool season from October to February.
The average temperature during the day is about 30°C and during the night
about 15°C. In March / April the temperature rises even to 40°C until
the cooling, rainy season starts.
