The Lebanese are extremely friendly and hospitable. Ask anyone on the street for directions or suggestions and they will be happy to help you! Each neighborhood in Beirut has its own unique vibe and characteristics.Hamra is a very nice district and very affordable in Hamra you'll find for an early evening stop to sort out the night plans for example, the Cafe Younes; it's affordable, its coffee is freshly made and it provides a wide selection of pastries, desserts, sandwiches, and salads for whatever you may be craving. I also recommend buying some packets of boxes of their teas. If you are in an indulgent mood, their hot chocolate is very rich. It really tastes like someone melted a solid block of chocolate into a cup!Have a stroll on Monot Street, is in the Gemmayze neighborhood, but because it's so amazing it is sometimes considered to be its own entity separate from the rest of Gemmayze, the street has plenty of hot spots for dancing, drinking and having big fun: but without breaking budget!
Also in the same district head for Gourad street ,it's full of bars and late night restaurants, it's the place where local Beirutis go out at night. The thoroughfare, rue Gouraud, with its numerous small bars, has taken over rue Monot in Achrafieh as the most popular night spot lately, the street stretches eastwards from the edge of Downtown Beirut and Saifi Village.
