Spinneys Shopping Mall
Spinneys shopping mall in Beirut does not stand alone, in fact it is part of one of the largest supermarket chains founded in the Middle East. The largest shareholder and manager of the Brand is the Dubai based private equity firm Abraaj Capital. Spinneys was formed in 1924 by Arthur Rawdon Spinneys, in Alexandria, Egypt and has spread to many countries in the region, including the city of Beirut.
The Beirut incarnation is located in a large commercial plaza on the outskirts of the city. Spinneys shopping mall contains countless retail stores with products ranging from everyday groceries to this season's fashion trends. The mall houses a Starbucks coffee shop and a McDonald's restauraunt on the ground floor. The building itself was modeled by the architect Ali Ezzedine and is newly refurbished. It is one of the best places in Lebanon to find a lot of designer clothing and electronic gadgetry collected together in one place.
