This magnificently structured mansion earlier belonged to Cheong Fatt Tze, who was a wealthy Chinese shipping and trading tycoon. The outstanding mansion is located on the oldest streets in George Town, Penang.
He was a successful and powerful personality from China. He moved in to Penang in 1880. He brought several craftsmen and artisans to build this mansion for him. The mansion represents his status and power.
Visitors can glance at the spectacular interior and exterior of this house. The mansion is spread across an area of 3000 sq. m. It possesses 38 rooms with 220 windows and 7 staircases.
The mansion opens into five spacious courtyards. The most attractive feature of the mansion is the eye catching indigo blue color. The mansion possesses an exquisite interior.
This lavish mansion is today converted into a luxurious heritage hotel. Guests are facilitated with the best of amenities. This is truly a wonderful place to see the rich heritage of the Chinese people.
