House of Parliament is located at the Perdana Lake Garden in Kuala Lumpur, which is next to the Malaysian national monument, the Tugu Negara. The Malaysian Parliament is divided into three components: Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, Senate and House of Representatives.
It has 2 parts divided into a 3-storey building and a 17-storey tower. The construction of the House of Parliament was started in December 1959 and completed on September 1962 by Mr. Tunku Abdul Rahman, the first Malaysian Prime Minister.
A statue of Mr. Tunku Abdul Rahman was made near the Parliament Square. This building is also featured on the reverse of the first series sen coins and also on the first and second series Malaysian dollar 1,000 banknotes.
