Menara Maybank at Jalan Tun Perak Kuala Lumpur houses the Maybank Numismatic Museum. The Museum was established in the year 1988 showcasing the fascinating collection of currencies from the early history of Malaysia to present days. The museum also serves as a currency research centre. Some of the collection of the museum includes notes and coins dating back from the Melaka Sultanate and currencies being used during the occupation of Portuguese, Japanese as well as British in Malaya. The collection of the museum consists of miniature cannons, foreign currencies as well as currencies from Malay states. Maybank Numismatic Museum is a popular tourist attractions and a place worth visiting to know the history of currencies in Malaysia. Visitors are allowed to visit the museum from 10am- 6pm daily and the museum remains closed on public holidays.
