National Textile Museum, the newest tourist attraction as well as recently opened museum is situated in the city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The museum is housed in Jalan Sultan Hishamuddin, a 114 year old building of Kuala Lumpur which was earlier used by the state railway. The museum is expanded in an area of 3259m2 and was opened to the public on 9th January 2010.
The museum is divided into four categories and showcases a collection of fabulous textiles of the ethnic communities of Malaysia. Along with it, there is a fabulous display of gold ornaments in one of the four galleries of the museum. The museum also houses a café where one can have refreshment while exploring the museum, a museum shop for shopping as well as a resource Centre. National Textile Museum is a place worth visiting to know the textile history of ancient Malaysia. Visitors can visit the museum daily from 9.00 am to 6.00 pm.
