Kuala Lumpur houses some of the sites, which are a blend of natural marvels and spirituality. One such attraction is the Batu Caves near Kuala Lumpur City. These limestone caves are located on a steep hill, which lies besides the Batu River.
The caves are famous Hindu shrines. The caves and the cave temples are dedicated to the Hindu deity, the Lord Muruga. Visitors can see the huge statue of Lord Muruga on the entrance of the cave.
This is the largest statue of Lord Muruga in the world. This 42.7 meter tall statue is made up of concrete, steel bars and 300 liters of golden colored paint, all brought from Thailand.
The Batu Caves are a group of few big and several small caves. The biggest of them all is the Temple Cave, which has a 100 meters tall ceiling. Visitors need to climb 272 stairs to reach to these caves.
Apart from these wonderful structures, the Batu caves are famous for their exotic wildlife. The most often seen wild animal is the monkey. Visitors must not trouble them as they can harm.
