The Underwater World is an important tourist attraction in Langkawi. It is located at Zon Pantai Cenang and is spread across an area of 6.2 acres. The place possesses a spectacular landscaped beachfront.
With its huge area and stretch, the Underwater World has become Asia's largest freshwater and marine aquaria.
The huge aquarium is home for more than 5000 types of fishes belonging to 500 different species.
The aquaria houses more than 100 tanks, in which these marine animals are kept. The tanks are hexagonally shaped and hold nearly 6 million liters of water.
Visitors can see various aquatic creatures like huge turtles, stingrays, sharks and other marine creatures, while walking through the tunnels under the huge tanks.
The thick laminated glass panels avail the visitors to have a close look at these animals. This is truly an exciting place, where visitors can learn about various awesome aquatic species
