The ideal way to learn about the Malaysian city Melaka is to visit the Baba Nyonya Heritage Museum.
This traditional styled museum is located at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock in Melaka. Although it is a small place, it houses a large number of ethnic stuff that exhibits the heritage of Chinese- Malays culture.
The Chinese and Malays are called as Baba Nyonya in this city. Hence, the museum is named as Baba- Nyonya Heritage Museum.
The artifacts represent the Chinese culture that has adopted the Malay culture. Hence, visitors can see a blend of both these cultures and traditions in the exhibition.
The key features here include Chinese ceramics, tea sets, tea pots and unique Nyonya wares. The museum also houses Chinese handicrafts, figurines, imported curios and exotic ink paintings from China.
The building in which the museum is set up is an artistic masterpiece as well.
