Penang: Attractions and more...

The Botanical Gardens is a huge recreational park with tropical greenery and beautiful lakes; Macaque monkeys can be easily sighted here. Guided tours and jungle treks are also available.

The Art Gallery is a pioneering art storehouse. The paintings, which are the works of national as well as international artists, represent the major periods in Malaysian history. The Penang Hill offers a magnificent view of the area and can be reached through a cable train. Also, the Penang Bridge, which is the largest bridge in Asia, offers a breathtaking view of the oceans and is a popular tourist spot.

The Bukit Jambul Orchid, Hibiscus and Reptile Garden houses different species of snakes such as the exotic Albino Python. The place also hosts a snake show on weekends and holidays. The Penang International Dragon Boat Festival is an annual event which features colourful, traditional dragon boats.
