Bako National Park

Bako National Park is a coastal park which can be reached by a 25 minutes boat ride in the South China Sea from Kampung Bako. In the interior of this park, one can view silver-leaf monkeys, long-tailed Macaques, mouse deers, wild boars, plantain squirrels and giant monitor lizards.

The most important animal is the Proboscis monkeys, which have a long nose. The fee structure for viewing the parks in Sarawak is available with Sarawak Tourism Board or the National Parks and Wildlife Office in Kuching.

Mulu National Park

The biggest national park in Sarawak is the Mulu National Park. Here, one can view spectacular limestone caves.

The longest cave system in South-East Asia which is the Clearwater Cave, the largest natural rock chamber in the world which is the Sarawak Chamber and the world’s largest cave passage which is the Deer Cave can be seen here.

It is claimed that this park is home to 281 varieties of butterflies, 74 types of frogs, 8 species of hornbills, 262 varieties of birds, 67 types of mammals, 170 species of Orchids and 1500 types of flowering plants.
