Veligandu Kandu can be described as one of the shallow channels as deep as 10 meters. Sloping of the reef takes place at 25 meters. Moreover, in middle of channel, a huge coral garden has been formulated with crannies and nooks with countless underwater species. ‘Manta rays’ are usually seen swimming along the channel. There is a ‘dive site’ that is frequently visited. It is known as ‘Maaya Thila’. The temperature on an average (of this dive site) is around 26 degree Celsius; whereas it is visible up to 20 meters.
Fushi Faru
Fushi Faru is located at a distance of 2 Km on the eastern side of ‘Ukulhas Island’. Scuba diving can be thoroughly enjoyed over here. This region is often patrolled by whale sharks. Red-toothed tiger fish and white-tip reef sharks reside in the reef. As such, visitors would feel the thrill with scuba diving at Fushi Faru.
