I and my wife were in Kathmandu in October 2010 for a 5-day UN programme for Youths on HIV.
Some 50 participants from 10 Asia Pacific countries participated in the programme. We had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed our stay in Nepal. During our stay at the Soltee Crown Plaza Hotel, the accomodation and food were simply majestic. I feel majority of the Nepalese are simple and loving people.
We had the opportunity to meet a young couple - Suresh and Sabitha - who had really touched our hearts. Suresh and Sabitha are operating textile business near Soltee Hotel. We had the opportunity to visit Thamel, Shiva Temple, Buddhist Temple, the Living Goddess and a variety of shops selling food such as momo. Shiva temple is simply majestic and I felt the vibrations and a sense of divine exposure. Its a great experience. The Buddhist temple or the monkey temple is a must place to visit. Thamel is a great shopping centre.
While the noisy surrounding and dirt may irritate you on your first visit, but i am preety sure Nepal will not dissappoint your trip and holiday.
I and my wife simply cannot forget Nepal. We will visit again. Our sincere thanks and love to Suresh and Sabitha and the Malaysian Government.
