The Tamang Heritage Trail is the newest trekking route in the Nepal Himalaya. We have been researching this region since 2004 and it is by far our ‘favourite little spot for a walk’. Our treks are the result of collaboration with local villagers in order to improve the quality of the trail.
This will become one of the most popular short trekking routes in the years to come as it offers a great general overview to the Himalaya and its cultures, and is very easy to access from Kathmandu.
One of the highlights of this trek is the opportunity to do ‘home stays’ in the village of Briddim. This involves staying in a traditional Tamang house for a couple of nights.

3 Kathmandu - Syabru Besi
4 Syabru Besi - Briddim
5 Briddim rest day or explore high kharka
6 Briddim - Timbure
7 Timbure - Thuman
8 Thuman - Nag Thali
9 Nag Thali - Ridge camp
10 Ridge Camp - Tatopani
11 Tatopani – Gatlang
12 Gatlang - Syabru Besi
13 Syabru Besi - Kathmandu
14 Kathmandu
15 Final Day end of trek debrief and departure.
