Wadi Nakhal has a modern settlement on its eastern side and an abandoned old village on the other side. A huge wall connects the lower and upper ruins which is the beginning of footpath W6a which leads the way to the highest mountain peak here, namely Jabal Shams. The ruins and the old village have been built of limestone produced locally.
