Filipino cuisine displays strong Chinese, Malay and Spanish influences. Rice is the main dish and is served with meats, fish or other seafood cooked in a stew, along with vegetables.
Some of the local favourites include Lechón, roasted pig; Kaldereta, goat prepared in a tomato stew; Mechado, beef/pork in tomato sauce; and Crispy Pata, deep-fried pig’s foot. Also try some of the local desserts like Nata de coco (coconut jello) and Bibingka (pudding).
