Mandaue is a city situated in the province of Cebu in Philippines. It is a metropolitan city and covers a total area of 34.87 km². The city is connected to Mactan Island with 2 bridges namely, the Marcelo Fernan Bridge and the Mactan Cebu Bridge. The city lies on the coastal plains of the province and has an average elevation of 16.8 meters. The city is surrounded by the Mactan Channel on the east, Cebu City North Reclamation on the south, Barangay Banilad on the southwest, municipality of Consolacion on the north, and Barangay Talamban on the northwest. Mandaue City has a total population of 318,575 inhabitants as per the 2007 census. The Mantawi Festival is celebrated each year in the city on the 7th of May. The city is nicknamed as the ‘Furniture Capital of the Philippines’. Almost 40% of the export companies in Cebu are found in this region.
