Manila, capital of the Philippines and one of the great cities of South East
Asia, is built on the edge of the wonderful natural harbour of Manila Bay in
the central island of Luzon, the largest and northernmost Philippine island.
It is the country's major commercial, financial and educational centre and the
heart of the country's national government.
Founded by the Spanish in 1571 by López de Legaspi and developed mainly
by Spanish missionaries, Manila remained under Spanish control until the Spanish-American
War in 1898, when it was seized by U.S. forces three months after the battle
of Manila Bay.
Manila was held by the Japanese from 1942 to 1945 during World War II and unfortunately
much of the city was destroyed.
Since then however the city has expanded widely on both sides of the Pasig River,
absorbing a number of surrounding towns and smaller cities.
Today, Manila is a lively metropolis with a delightful mix of old and new: age-old
traditions and modern-day attractions; centuries-old buildings and gleaming
high-rise structures; quaint street stalls and modern shopping malls; stately
museums and discotheques and bars.

People were so nice... they are so respectful to the old much love is the way they talk with po and opo its there way to show their respect ... I love also their food, specially the BALOT and IHAW - IHAW ... in places i love Rizal Park and Intramuros they keep the history of there country!
Sometimes this place looks like a big trash can. However the community is quite good, but the youth are getting liberated. I enjoy going to the places like quiapo, raon, recto, binondo, and divisoria. There are lots of things to see there and learn there, especially in technology.
My visit in Manila is totally great. This place is incomparable to anywhere else in South East Asia. Plus the awesome food, hospitable people, not-so-expensive-goods, and Nice places makes this City a home to tourists like me! Ill definetly comeback here!

Manila is the center of all learnings: education, growing up, maturity, everything that influences an individual's character can be found in Manila. It is where all classes in the society of Filipinos intermingles.
The development of Manila is good but expansion should be even more more progressive evenly on the suburbs, like Marikina, Rizal (San Mateo}, Quezon City, Caloocan, and not mention Makati which is Too Progressive.
Its boring if you dont plan your activities, transportation is very accessible, .. you need to be familiar with the places you go, choose to go to safe places, people are kind to help..and not very expensive
I'm very proud in manila !! because they always keep clean the surroundings .. but wait I see the very dissapointing place I just want to remind everyOne to also keep the cleanliness of the seashore :)
