Situated in the heart the city of Manila is the Rizal Park which is a tribute to Dr. Jose Rizal who was a hero of the Philippines Revolution.
Also called Luneta (little Moon), the park is an important tourist spot in Manila.
It has other attractions for families as well. A replica of the Philippine archipelago, located at the centre of the small man-made lake, catches the attention of everyone.
Bands, orchestra and other types of entertainment are available in the open air auditorium. Visitors can experience the recreational value of the park at the free Concert in the Park.
In front of the Rizal Monument, a tall flagpole marks the Kilometre Zero or central point for all distances in the Philippines.
Other attractions in the park are the Chinese and Japanese Gardens, the Orchidarium and Butterfly Pavillion, the Planetarium, a Chess Plaza, a fountain area, a children’s lagoon and more.
