Tagaytay is a city situated in the Cavite Province of the Philippines. It is located atop the Tagaytay Ridge, which is the tallest point in the province. The city, home to over 46,000 residents, is a famous tourist destination owing to its cool climate and high altitude.
The city boasts of a cool climate throughout the year, with two main seasons: wet and dry. The dry season extends from November to April; the remaining months are mostly wet. Tagaytay receives abundant rainfall and is considered an ideal spot for getaways and spiritual retreats, owing to its favourable climate.
Tagaytay was incorporated as a city in 1938. Initially, it was a small village with a small population. However, its potential as a tourist centre gave shape to the development that followed. Today, it is a world-class tourist centre.
