A tour to Jizan can never be a disappointing option because it provides a variety of historical and archeological sites. As it is close to the sea and some very interesting structures have sprung up to give this city a whole new image. The coastal attractions include the Jizon Harbor, the Farasan Islands and the Faifa mountains. One thing that is sure noticeable about the Jizon harbor is the specially designed boats that operate here. They are traditional boats used by the fishermen and are called as ’Dhows’. This area is plentiful in fishes and can be used to extend the external supplies of this city. The Farasan islands can be seen from this harbor and one can catch a ferry to the islands from this place itself. The island has huge reserves of rich, varied and beautiful seabirds. It has the largest gazelle population in the entire country. You can count about 500 gazelles on the main island itself which is a good omen for wildlife photographers.
