Indulge in the Singapore Food Festival in July, and bite into the local tastes. Some of the local favourites include Bak Kut Teh, meaty pork ribs cooked in a broth of rich herbs and spices; Char Kway Teow, fried flat noodles, with soy sauce, prawns, eggs and sprouts, all fried in pork fat; Ketupat, or dumplings; and Indian Rojak, a mixture of potatoes, eggs, bean curds and prawns fried together in a thick batter. A popular snack is the Barbequed Stingray.
