The Singapore Changi Airport is the main airport in Changi in Singapore and is operated by the civil aviation authority of Singapore.
It is the 5th busiest airports in Asia and handled 1.89 million tonnes of cargo in 2007. The airport was built in 1981 and has been a benchmark for excellence in service winning more than two hundred and eighty awards till now.
There are five passenger terminals out of which three have direct connections with the transit area, one has its own check-in facility and the Budget terminal which is separated from the main terminals has free shuttle bus services.
This is the second airport in Asia which has a terminal specially catering to the needs of budget travellers and offers a range of duty free shops, free internet access, food and beverage outlets, free shuttle services and more.
