The Chinatown Heritage Center is a wealth of storehouse of memories of the past and is situated in 3 newly renovated houses on the Pagoda Street in Singapore.
This center gives vast information about the history of Chinatown and the lives of the early settlers. The museum is open from nine to eight from Monday to Sunday and charges 9.80 dollars for an adult and 6.30 dollars for children.
There are various levels in the center which take you to different times in the past acquainting you with the lifestyle and culture of the past of Chinatown, including the celebration, activities and also the evils such as gambling, smoking and prostitution which existed even then.
There are exhibitions and displays which give a replica of the former residents and people who lived here. There are guided tours of the galleries and one can even have a cup of tea or coffee at the Kopi Tiam here.
