The National Orchid Garden is the major attraction within the botanical gardens of Singapore and is a three hectare hilly region which encompasses more than two thousand hybrids of orchids and more than 60,000 colorful orchid plants in its campus.
There are several attractions within the garden such as the Burkill Hall & VIP Orchid Garden which has a colonial bungalow used by the director and an orchid garden displaying a number of VIP orchids.
There is the Orchidarium which displays orchids in a natural tropical surrounding.
The Coolhouse is a replica of a tropical highland forest and displays orchids typically found in this region.
The Lady Yuen-Peng McNeice Bromeliad House displays plants from the Bromeliaceae category and has a unique collection brought from the popular Shelldance nursery in the USA.
