Chinatown lies within the district of Outram in Singapore and is an ethnic neighborhood in the city where one can find a typical Chinese ambience. A number of sections of the district have been declared as national heritage sites and the region comprises of a number of sub-districts.
The Bukit Pasoh is a region where one can find several clan associations and get acquainted with the Chinese culture. Telok Ayer is home to several Chinese as well as Muslim places of worship.
Tanjong Pagar has many conserved shop houses from the pre-World War II era.
The other attractions here include the Chinatown Food Street, the Chinatown Heritage Center and the Chinatown Night Market.
The Chinatown area has typical buildings and shops which resemble the Victorian and Baroque style of architecture and are in pastel colors.
