Tourist Guide Kyongju
Kyongju is a city located on the coast of the Sea of Japan in the North Kyongsang Province of South Korea. With a population of approximately 280,000 inhabitants, the city is a major tourist destination as well as an industrial centre. One of the best-known destinations in South Korea, it is regarded as a centre of the Silla heritage.
Owing to its coastal location, Kyongju has a mild and wet climate characterised by hot summers and cool winters. Monsoons visit the city in the period of June to August. Typhoons are experienced occasionally.
Rich in its cultural heritage, Kyongju has been industrially active as well. It has a diverse economy with the agriculture and hospitality industry employing the maximum number of people in the city. Tourism, manufacturing and fishing are other major activities.
