The best time to visit South Korea is either autumn (September to November) or spring (April to May). However, to enjoy a crowd-free trip, winters (which are dry and great for skiing) would be a good time to visit the country.

The Korean New Year (lunar New Year), known locally as Seollal, is one of the biggest celebrations in South Korea. It is celebrated in February for three consecutive days and is a public holiday.
