Maradana is a suburb of Colombo, Sri Lanka and is also the main railway hub of the country with many railway yards and running sheds. The main tourists’ attraction of the Maradana is the statue of Colonel Henry Steel Olcott, the founder of Theosophical Society and the first well-known European person to make a formal Buddhism conversation. Along with this Maradana have theatres, many renowned institutes and well known Mariyakade market. Mariyakade market consists of various shops availing variety of items.

One can fulfill all their shopping needs in the market right from clothes to food to accessories. The worth visiting places in Maradana are National Zoological Gardens, Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia, the nicest beach in Colombo, National Museum of Natural History, Gangaramaya Temple, Mutwal Fishing harbor, Kalutara and Kelaniya Temple. The place also has some of the well facilitated hotel providing accommodations for visitors including; Cinnamon Grand Hotel and Galle Face Hotel.
