The Mirror Wall

The Mirror Wall has been created out of a sort of porcelain and was so nicely polished that the King could see his reflection on the wall. Visitors scribbled some versus on this wall on different issues like irony, love and their experiences. Some versus from the 8th century have been preserved. At present, it has been proscribed to write anything on this Wall.

Frescoes

On the western side of the rock, there are paintings over an area 140 meters in length and 40 meters in height. In these paintings, there are references to about 500 ladies. A large number of such references were wiped out from the rock when the Palace was transformed to a Monastery. There is also some graffiti on the “Cobra Hood Cave.”

The Water Gardens

In the western region of the fortress, the Water Gardens are found in the middle section. In the first garden, one can view an island that is encircled by water. This garden has 4 causeways and at the head of each of these there is a gate. This garden is one of the oldest preserved models of an ancient garden form called as “Char Bhag.” The second garden comprises of 2 deep and long pools on both sides of a path. The third garden consists of an octagonal and large pool with a raised platform in the northeast edge.
