Aleppo: Vacations and Tourism

Aleppo, the capital of the Aleppo Governorate is a city in Syria. With a population of about two million, it is the second largest city in the country; it is also one of the most ancient cities and a thriving commercial centre. A traditional Arab city, it has preserved its culture extremely well.

A moderate climate defines the city of Aleppo which has cool, wet winters that tend to be short, and dry, hot summers. The climate is mostly dry and pleasant. Winters are the best time to visit.

Aleppo has been a major trading route since ancient times because of its strategic position. Today, the major exports of the city are carpets, textiles, leather and embroidered goods.
