The University of Damascus is known to be the largest and the oldest university in Syria and is situated in Damascus, Syria.
Having campuses in other cities of Syria, it was founded in 1923. Presently, there are 6 other public universities and over 10 private ones in Syria.
The University of Damascus president is Dr. Wael Mua'lla and is home to 2,173 admin staff, with around 85,837 students. The university most of the courses are taught in Arabic, which is unique in the Arab world.
