The Peitou Hot Spring Museum was built as the Peitou public bathing house in 1913 as first public bath house of Taiwan during the Japanese imperial ruling period. It’s a Victorian-style building, built with red bricks and wooden weatherboards. The museum is divided into two stories; on the first floor is the public bath along with introduction and history of hot springs, hot springs facilities, appliances used, bathing space and Peitou Stones. On the second floor are situated six different exhibition areas including the history of Peitou where pictures, relevant equipments and new articles are on display.
Hot Spring Museum also has a multi-media room showing the documentary of Peitou Hot Spring Museum. The museum is located in the area behind the Peitou Park and is at a distance of half an hour from the Taipei main Station MRT. For visitors who want to decompress themselves, a visit to the Hot Spring Museum can get them a feel of hot spring experience.
