Located between the Taipei Metro Red Line and eastern shore of the Danshui River as well as between Civic Boulevard and the Sun Yat-sen Freeway, Datong District is a district of Taipei. The district is noticed mostly by visitors and tourists for its Japanese Colonial era and the architecture of Qing dynasty, especially along Dihua Street. The Dihua Street is most famous for its Lunar New Year holidays. The market specializes in providing dried fruits, dried meats, snacks, dried seafood, nuts and health drinks. Other tourist attractions in Datong include Xiahai City God Temple near Dihua Street, the Taipei Confucius Temple and the Bao-an Temple in the Dalongdong area.
Along with Dihua street market, Datong also comprises of several other markets where tourist can savor shopping. These markets include Yongle Market, Dalong Night Market, Ningxia Night Market and Yansan Night Market.
