Ko Lanta: Attractions and more...

Ko Lanta, with its rich culture and history, is a haven for its visitors. The Sea Gypsy Village at the southern end of the east coast is home to ancient tribes who lead a nomadic life on the sea. While visiting the village, be sure to catch a glimpse of their unique fishing cages.

Klong Jark Beach, one of Ko Lanta’s smallest beaches, and the Mai Keow Caves are the two most popular tourist attractions. The caves house a series of chambers with stalagmites, stalactites and other rock formations. The Ko Lanta National Marine Park and the newly discovered Tiger Cave are also popular.

The Laanta Lanta Festival held annually during the tourist season is the most popular festival celebrated throughout the island. Loi-Rua, a boat-floating festival is also popular.

Ko Lanta has a wide range of restaurants serving delicious and cheap Thai dishes along with a few western ones. Sunset Restaurant and Thai Cuisine serve the best Thai food in Ko Lanta.
