Ayutthaya has a hot and humid weather. Nearly all the old buildings and ruins are in open space, so the temperature can really get unbearable if you are not careful.
Do not forget to bring basic sun-protective things like hats, goggles, umbrellas, sandals and wet-tissues. A sun-screen lotion is also a must.
Although many shops and vendors sell mineral water bottles and cold-drinks, it doesn’t generally come at a small price and therefore packing along extra water bottles becomes essential as well.
Take only the bare minimum clothing with you and keep the size of luggage as small as possible. It is no fun carrying around loads of stuff when you are already sweating.
Loose and light clothes like sleeveless t-shirts and casual shorts are the perfect attire for roaming around. Small back-packs which hold toiletries and cotton handkerchiefs come very handy when you have to freshen up quickly.
Almost all the attractions and parks in Ayutthaya don’t chare extra for cameras and video shootings; therefore a digital camera is an obvious choice to be included in your luggage.
