Surroundings and tours:  Bangkok seems to have become under rated. Many people these days just jet off straight to Phuket while Bangkok offers the bigger cultural experience and endless things to do and see. Visit the floating markets, there are several and an age old way for Thais to sell their goods on the canals from boats. Visit gilded temples, the grand palace, check out the Siam Nimirit Show depicting a Thailand you have never seen, navigate the Chaophraya River on a traditional rice barge, or ask a local to take you on his traditional long tail boat to places along the river many tourists never see. Then there ... More are modern attractions and entertainment like Flow House Bangkok where you can ride your body board down the water slides, Terminal 21 depicting almost every major city in the world, water parks, some super cool clubs and trendy hang outs and this is just the tip of the ice berg. If you travel just beyond the city borders to places like Kanchanaburi you will encounter beautiful nature parks you can hike in, rivers you can go rafting on and paces like the bridge over the river Kwai which will resonate well with history lovers. The fact remains, if you have not been to Bangkok you have not been to Thailand.

Nightlife and entertainment:  Though all countries in the world are quite nice, but as per my international travel experience Thailand is the best of all in every respect. All respect means tourism, sightseeing, cheap shopping, mostly Thai people are fair, honest & humble people, wonderful road/rail transportation system, accommodation is available for living from 1 star to 7 star (guest houses & hotels). non interference in personal affairs, having very good, helpful Tourist Police system who can speak English, In particular Nana,Soi-3,Sukhumvit Rd & also in nearby different spots on Sukhumvit road are the best entertainment places. ... More Above all ( as per my travel experience of Thailand many many times, mostly, whole of Thailand is secured & safe country. In short, it is rightly called Paradise on the Earth & Land of Smiles.

Shopping and Souvenirs: I'm a fan of local crafts and I love the statues of elephants. I bought several, made of different materials: wood, metal, stone, cloth. Loads of magnets, key chains and lighters for myself and for my friends. Hand-painted tapestries, carved wooden panels and many other souvenirs. This city is wonderful to me because there are all sorts of markets everywhere!

Nightlife and entertainment: The city is open to all kinds of visitors ... the only advice is to choose the right neighborhood / area to go to. There are areas geared towards families (and couples on their honeymoon) and areas for groups of young men and women (or sinlges).

General opinion: From temples, the Grand Palace, all the way over the some of Asia's largest shopping centers and the largest outdoor market of Asia (Chatuchak), Bangkok definitely has what it takes to entertain visitors from all origins, either first time or return travelers. Whilst Taxi fares are very reasonable, most of the sightseeing can comfortably be reached by Skytrain (BTS) or Underground train (MRT).

Packing List: Take light and practical clothing because you sweat a lot and you have to change several times during the day. Alternatively, you can can travel light and buy the clothes on the spot, as they're very cheap. Hot and humid climate, with temperatures ranging between 25 ° and 30 °. Weather variable.

Eating and Drinking: Try all the food you see and don't always go to the glitzy restaurants ... Being prejudiced will prevent you from enjoying all the flavourful food that you can get in the street. Just have the patience to make yourself understood and you will be one of them.

Eating and Drinking: The best pad thai (Thai dish made with rice noodles, eggs, shrimp, tofu and peanuts) is found in the various stalls that are on the road to Khao San Road, where you can then spend the evening in one of the many places where they play music or give leg massages.

General opinion: Organised chaos would best describe the city. Helpful people and excellent food. Transport a bit restrictive for disabled persons but not insurmountable. Confusing to find decent accommodation in the right area at the right price. The Grand Palace and all it's satellite attractions are a must. I did not take a trip on the river but plan to remedy this when I visit in December.

General opinion: Its a heaven when it comes to shopping food and massages. Accommodation wise it depends on where you want to stay since there are places to suite your budget in every way. Transportation is good again it depends on whether you hire a car or if you want to go out station they have a van system which is one of the best and cheapest to travel around.

General opinion:  Acquiring tailor made clothes is one of the joys of visiting Bangkok. This alone could make this city a destination point as the tailoring here is the most prolific in the world. This said, there is very little information on tailors in Bangkok and which ones are best. To the untrained eye the quality is the same with all of them. You have to watch out which store to use, and which not to. Below is a list of places that you could have a look at before deciding which one is the best for yourself. Remember, the key to tailored suits are fittings and time.Universal Tailors (Silom Soi 18, near ... More Narai hotel). The owner runs the shop himself. In spite of serving multiple customers during the same time period, he offers same attention level to all the clients. The shop is located on heart of Bangkok, Silom road. They offer different range of materials (mind it you get only pure wool here) from high end to mid end. The owner has over 35 years of hands-on experience (Recommended).Romeo and Juliet Tailor's House (118 Ratchprarob Road) Clothes for both Ladies and Gentlemen. Good quality suits, and lower price. located close to Indra Square. They have been trusted in Thailand since 1975 whilst they opened in 1972. They have professional tailors working in the showroom and deliver your clothes within 24 hours. The Tailor has a big/wide selection of fabrics and colours to choose from.International Boutique House (Sukhumvit Road, Soi 11). The quality is pretty good. When buying suits you will find the same type of price difference. Nick's proves useful for the experience of a "high end" suit. This shop has all of the qualities to deliver a "bespoke" (completely original and unique to the customer) suit. The problem with Nick's is that while the tailor is present to do the measurements and cuttings, it seems he is unable to fit the suit to your personal anomalies. Also inside Sukhumvit Road soi 11 is Jhasper Fashion which does tailoring for both men and women. Offer modern suit cuts, superior workmanship, and latest fabrics. They will also take a whole lot of measurements off your body as they are quite detailed in custom making their clothes that fit customers well. For those that are looking for value for money, this is the place.Nickermann's Boutique & Thai Silk at the Landmark Hotel & Plaza , 138 Sukhumvit Road. Do not use their online shop (unless you feel daring and adventurous today, and have your measures taken by a professional tailor). Go to them in person. Why? Because they make fine clothes and already have a large and steady clientele of Scandinavian, British and German diplomats and business people. And because their prices are very reasonable - 7000 to 9800 baht for a three piece suit, depending on the quality of the cloth material. And Finally, look up the other 34 shops, including Tailor Pro on Sukhumvit soi 16, Crown Tailors on Sukhumvit soi 8, Rajas on soi 4, Savile Row Inside Rose hotel and BG Tailor (former name Bogies) in New Road near Oriental Hotel and Jhasper Fashion Custom Tailors in Sukhumvit 11.Take a look at what they all have to offer (in terms of fabric selection as well as finished suits/shirts) before concluding your decision. It's your money being spent - don't get forced to spend it until you are ready!

Eating and Drinking: Dont hesitate to try street food as the best dishes are served at pavements. I had one coffee made by a woman with her eyes shut within 2min. The bite sized cakes are amazing, the fruits are from heaven, the fried noodle is a little bit oily to me but still worth a try.

Best Period to Go: The best time to go and visit Bangkok is in the spring, around March, because the temperature isn't too high and the winds are weak and there is very little rain, so you have the chance to enjoy everything from boat trips on the river, to visits to the large pagodas. You can eat lots of fish and seafood at a laughably low price.
