The Sunday Market is held on Pae Walking Street on every Sunday near the Ratchadamnoen Road at the Phae Gate. No traffic is allowed on the roads and people are free to walk for a pleasant shopping experience.
The market operates from around 4 PM to 10 PM. It is different from the conventional Night Markets in the quality of the goods sold. Sunday Market deals with only original goods and excellent hand-crafted items.
The market is populated with both local and foreign tourists who can scrutinize the items while listening to the beautiful Thai and Western music played by various buskers.
A variety of goods ranging from handicraft-products to portraits and paintings are sold here at bargain prices. Several quality articles from the Northern provinces are regularly sold here.
They include candles, baskets and bags, lamps and wood carvings. Each week there is reserved space for “one product one village” products. These products are the winners of the ‘best product’ award from each village and assuredly of excellent quality.
