The Patara Elephant Farm is situated at about twenty-nine km from the Airport Intersection at the south-west part of Chiang Mai. The Farm is dedicated to elephant breeding and survival in the best possible natural environment.
The farm offers a chance to be an elephant trainer for a day. One can learn the basic commands of controlling the elephant and take a tour of the surroundings on this regal animal’s back.
General knowledge and background about elephants is provided along the trip. Various fun activities like elephant feeding, brushing and bathing, water-ride and score-hunting are offered when you ride your own elephant.
One can also take pictures and do video shoots. The staff and tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They share genuine love and care for the elephants and by the end of the day; one gets a true-to-life experience of being an elephant-rider
