Hua Hin: Attractions and more...
Even though it is the oldest resort town of Thailand, Hua Hin still draws tourists because of its relaxing rural ambience. The town has a beautiful 8-km-long beach and is an international golf destination with world class courses like the Royal Hua Hin Golf Course, the first in Thailand.
Other attractions include the picturesque town railway station complete with a restored locomotive engine, Kaeng Krachan National Park, north of Hua Hin (extending along the border with Myanmar) and Khao San Roi Yot, which is Thailand’s first marine national park and lies 35 km to the south.
Also make a trip to the Kao Takeab which is the highest area in Hua Hin and offers you a glimpse of the entire town along with some delicious Thai cuisine (including the famous Thai sweets called Kanoms).
Plan your visit in time for the town’s biggest event, the Elephant Polo Tournament, which is held at Pradiphat Pine Forest and draws international teams.
