Getting around in Kanchanaburi

The Mon Tribal Village is a small ethnic village in the Kanchanaburi province. It has become a major tourist attraction and many tourist companies include this quaint village on the itinerary of their package.

The village is populated by the Mon tribe who lead a simple way of life. Theirs is a relatively friendly tribe and have been exposed to outside cultures thanks to the constant influx of foreigners who come here for touring.

One can view several tribal presentations, which include Mon dance routines and delicious village food is also on offer.

The village tour can be done in half a day time but there are facilities available even if one wants to stay overnight. Small shacks and comfortable abodes are offered for minimal charges.

Foreign tourists often take small packets of chocolates and other sweets to distribute amongst little children.
