The Lamai Beach is situated at the east coast of Koh Samui and has the widest strip of sand. It is considered as the best for swimming and provides many shopping and eating options nearby.
Plenty of bars are situated along the side of Main Street and a few are located on the side streets. Direct transport options are available from the Samui Airport or one can also choose private taxis.
The water becomes more deep as you go north and eventually become rocky towards the headland. The soft sands compliment the beauty of the beach.
The Grandfather and Grandmother Stones is one of the most famous attractions of the beach.
There are many souvenir stands scattered around this attraction and even a free-candy shop!
Mua Thai fights are regularly held here in the nearby local stadiums, which are worth-a-visit.
