Laem Sor Pagoda is situated amidst one of the most untouched areas of the Koh Samui Island. Most of the tourists are unaware of the tranquil and serene beauty of this area.
The enchanting golden pagoda is located in a thick 'meditation forest'. At this place, spirituality blends with natural beauty. The Chedi or the pagoda lies on the right side of the beach.
The front side of the pagoda looks wild and rocky; while the beach side is calming. There are no trees on the beach side. This contradicts the lush green backdrop of the meditation forest on the other side of the pagoda.
The pagoda is made up of countless number of small yellow colored tiles, which appear to be golden from a distance. The surrounding meditation forest consists of a few tables and places to sit.
During the festival season, local residents and Buddhist monks pay homage to this temple. Visitors can also see a man made lagoon near this pagoda.
