The Samui Butterfly Garden is an enclosed tropical park situated on the hillside of Laem Natien. It offers an exotic display of thousands of butterflies, moths and insects, along with some beehives.
An observatory is also located on the hillside which gives breathtaking view of the surrounding areas and the coast. Visitors interested in watching the sea-life are offered a glass-bottomed boat for observing the local coral-reef.
The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and provides interesting facts about the butterflies and other insects. Apart from taking a stroll in the garden amongst the butterflies, one can also visit a Thai-style house located in the garden.
It is known as The Bee House and visitors can observe various activates of the bees from a safe distance. The garden also houses an insect museum where rare insect species from Thailand and other regions are displayed.
