The Railay Beach has become one of the most sought-after beaches of Thailand in recent times. It offers an extraordinary and private retreat in a lush tropical setting.
From main Krabi Town, it takes around forty-five minutes to reach to this paradise by long-tail boats. One can even charter a full boat if traveling with a group.
The beach contains soaring limestone cliffs which surrounds the calm and clean waters. There are numerous viewpoints, caves and even a lagoon hidden inside one of the cliffs.
The island cannot be accessed by roads and a number of beaches like Railay West, Railay East and Phra Nang Cave Beach are connected with only winding narrow footpaths.
Accommodation can be found in the foothills of the cliffs ranging from basic fan-cooled bungalows to the grand Sheraton Rayawadee. Along with a plethora of water-sport activities like kayaking, diving and snorkeling, one can also enjoy rock-climbing, jungle trekking, elephant riding and even cooking.
