Tourist Guide Pattaya:

An internationally well-known seaside resort, Pattaya is located approximately 170 km southeast of Bangkok on the east coast off the Gulf of Thailand.

The town stretches over 15 kilometres along the coast. With a population of more than 96,000, it is a melting pot of different nationalities. Every year it welcomes more than 5 million visitors.

The best period to visit is November to February, when the weather is nicely warm - 20° to 30° - and dry. February to May is the hot, dry season with occasional rain and spectacular thunder storms. The monsoon season is June to October, with heavy rain, 90%25 humidity and temperatures 25° to 35°.

Public beaches are not well maintained. Stray dogs roaming the beaches and streets, everywhere, but are generally not aggressive or hostile, even in packs. City is mostly a party town for young bucks on holiday, or a retirement heaven for old men, trying to recapture unfulfilled episodes of their youth. Watch your wallet on "the walking street". Avoid being alone in bars where there are groups of Thai menfolk, and especially if you are a foreigner of color (anywhere in Thailand). Always, always count your change, after making purchases.

to high prices for short trips within the city. Starts once you arrive at the bus terminal. The motorbiker drive like crazy. Would be nice to find a taxi service like in BKK, even often you have trouble with the driver but much better than the Pattaya system.

The traffic is terrible and the price is getting really high compared to Laos and Cambodia and Burma.
