Koh Laan is situated at about forty-five minutes from Pattaya Beach and can be reached by long-tail or motorboats. It is the largest surrounding island near Pattaya.
It mainly serves as a local sight-seeing attraction and there are a number of beaches containing excellent seafood stalls and restaurants. Many of these restaurants serve freshly caught sea-food and provide delivery services to selected beach points.
The water is much cleaner and clearer as compared to the main Pattaya Beach and some of the tourist boats have glass-bottoms, enabling tourists to see the varied marine and coral life at the bottom of sea.
The beaches are also used for numerous water-sport activities like diving, wind-surfing, snorkeling, parasailing and water-skiing. Many tourists also enjoy relaxing and getting sun tanned along the relatively peaceful beaches.
Primary beaches of the Island include Hat Ta Phan, Hat Samae and Hat Thong Lang, which are famous for its range of corals.
