The most famous attraction of Phang Nga is the Ao Phang Nga National Park, which has the Koh Phing Kan island that is more popularly called the James Bond Island (as it was the shooting location of The Man with the Golden Gun). The park has spectacular limestone cliffs, rock formations, and some of the last mangrove forests in Thailand.
After visiting the James Bond Island, don’t forget to have lunch and shop for handicrafts at nearby Koh Pannyi, which is a beautiful island-village built entirely over water on stilts. The adventurous guests can also rent a kayak or a sea canoe and explore the other uninhabited islands like Koh Hong and Koh Maak.
The Kao Chang (Elephant Mountain) is a hill in the form of a kneeling elephant and is considered to be a landmark of the town. You can also explore the Reusi Sawan and Luk Seua Caves, which are connecting caves having stalagmites and stalactites. A monk statue guards the entrance to the caves.
